A legacy and a new beginning
A message from Michelle Fuller, CYM Board Chair:

Since Lisa joined CYM in August 2009, she has shared a strong passion for youth sexual health and a commitment to community partnerships with the staff and board that has only strengthened the organization. Which is why it is with sincere gratitude, sadness and hope that I announce that Lisa will be moving on to pursue her other passions as of August 31st, 2016.
While it saddens me that Lisa will be pursuing her other passions knowing that we accomplished great things together leaves me with happiness and excitement for her next phase in life as well as the life of CYM. As Executive Director, her vision and leadership have helped us consistently expand Colorado Youth Matter’s reach across the state, strengthening our mission and advancing the movement for youth sexual health. During her tenure, Lisa doubled CYM’s operating budget, set the foundation for a social enterprise, and led the board in a process to map out a plan for organizational sustainability. Above all, Lisa has cultivated a talented and exceptional staff who are well-positioned to continue the great work of Colorado Youth Matter into the future.
The Board of Directors is committed to ensuring ongoing organizational stability and will use this transition as an opportunity to guide Colorado Youth Matter into its next phase of maturity. We will be initiating the search for an Executive Director and are establishing a solid plan in the interim. We remain confident in the strength, passion, hard work and continued commitment of Colorado Youth Matter’s staff and the dedication and support of the board, to keep the work flowing seamlessly. We express our sincerest gratitude and best wishes to Lisa, and a heartfelt thanks to all of our friends, partners and advocates who join us in our work to promote the healthy sexual development of Colorado’s youth. Dear friends and colleagues,
After 3 ½ years as Executive Director, I have decided to leave my position with Colorado Youth Matter to map out my next chapter, reignite my passions, and seek new adventures. My time as Executive Director with Colorado Youth Matter – and, prior to this, with The Healthy Colorado Youth Alliance – have been amazing professional experiences, seeing the field of youth sexual health expand and mature into many great successes. I have especially appreciated the opportunity to work with and learn from some of the best people I know – my colleagues, community partners, and board members. You have all inspired me, and I am grateful to have learned with and from you as we’ve navigated familiar and new terrain. I leave CYM in a wonderful position to evolve and deepen its vision for youth sexual health across the state. Thank you for sharing this journey with me – it has been a true honor, and I’m so proud of the work we’ve been able to do together over these last 7 years!
