2.21-22.2016 Latina/o Advocacy Day (LAD)
Join Coloradans from across the state on Sunday, February 21st and Monday, February 22nd, 2016 for the 10th Annual of Latina/o Advocacy Day (LAD)!
This is a two-day program you don’t want to miss! On day 1, participate in issue area trainings, leadership development workshops and a kick-off evening reception. On day 2, get ready to head down to the Capitol and lobby your leaders during the session, attend 1:1 meetings with your elected official, and attend relevant committee hearings on issues you care about.
Each year since 2005, the Latin@ community comes together to advocate for justice, freedom and access to opportunity. Learn about advocacy from professionals and peers, speak directly to your elected officials and participate in briefings on current policy issues such as:
- Civil rights
- Economic justice
- Environmental justice
- Health care
- Reproductive health, rights and justice
Together we can ensure that the Latin@ community has a voice at the Colorado State Capitol, that policies reflect our needs, and that our officials are hearing directly from us!
Our leaders, our voice, our democracy: take action with us!
We look forward to seeing you at the 10th anniversary of LAD. We invite you to attend, volunteer and spread the word!
