Welcome!

Over the last 8 months, the board and staff have been working with partners and consultants to build on and improve the approach of COAPPP’s identity and outreach.

The new name embodies the steadfast sentiment that captures why we do what we do.  “Colorado Youth Matter” also promotes the organization’s core belief that youth can make healthy decisions when they are given access to services for and full information about their sexual health. This “matter” is something for which our organization proudly stands.

Colorado Youth Matter also continues to serve as an advocate for a large group of youth whose issues remain marginalized – teen parents.   The ability of teen parents to experience a healthy adolescence, success raising healthy children, and self-sufficiency relies greatly in their relationships with the adults and institutions around them.  Colorado Youth Matter is committed to advocating for schools, communities, and support systems that are welcoming, accommodating, and relevant to the thousands of young families in our state.

About our new website

The website is still in progress, but we are pleased to provide new sections that we hope you will find useful and interactive.

The Colorado Map that you will see across pages will offer county specific youth sexual health data.  In addition, the map will offer a list of health providers where youth and families can find general health services as well as sexual health and family planning services.

The Providers section includes thorough information about Colorado Youth Matter training, as well as national training offered by prominent training organizations in sexuality education, organizational development, and curricula.

We will continue our monthly eKnow, Colorado Youth Matter’s monthly electronic newsletter, with national research, statewide news, and highlights of events and training.

The Colorado Youth Matter website will be adding new information in the upcoming weeks and months, so please check in frequently.
